After graduating from the University of West London in 1987, Robert returned to Bermuda and began work with the brokerage department of Johnson & Higgins. Upon completing a secondment with Johnson & Higgins in Pittsburgh, he then joined the privately held firm, Triangle Brokerage, in 1992.

After the sale of Triangle Brokerage to JLT Risk Solutions in 2002, Robert, in the position of Vice Chairman, assumed responsibility for the brokerage operation of JLT Risk Solutions (Bermuda) Ltd., building it up to become the largest independent brokerage firm in Bermuda, while continuing to place accounts on a daily basis until his resignation from the company at the end of 2005. He then founded the brokerage firm, Foram Brokerage Ltd. in February of 2006, which he presently continues to run.

For 10 years, Robert served on the Board of the Bermuda Insurance Institute which provides courses and classes for all employees in Bermuda looking to further their education in the insurance industry and is a former member of the ACE Bermuda Advisory Board, which is made up of clients and brokers in order to provide feedback on a regular basis to ACE Bermuda. He was also named one of the ‘2007 Power Brokers’ by Risk and Insurance Magazine.
